Sometimes, it starts with something as simple as taking a walk.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"642\" data-end=\"904\">In early 2015, I gave a lecture at a bank I consult for. The audience? All the bank\u2019s branch managers.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"906\" data-end=\"1117\">Before I spoke, the bank\u2019s Vice President of Marketing, who had once been a branch manager himself, gave a talk about increasing the number of business accounts in each branch.<br data-start=\"1082\" data-end=\"1085\">He posed a few simple questions:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p data-start=\"1119\" data-end=\"1378\">\u201cHow many of you are located inside a commercial center?\u201d<br data-start=\"1176\" data-end=\"1179\">About half raised their hands.<br data-start=\"1209\" data-end=\"1212\">\u201cHow many of you are situated in an office building?\u201d<br data-start=\"1265\" data-end=\"1268\">About a third responded.<br data-start=\"1292\" data-end=\"1295\">\u201cWhich of you manage a branch in a shopping mall?\u201d<br data-start=\"1345\" data-end=\"1348\">The rest raised their hands.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p data-start=\"1380\" data-end=\"1638\">Then came the real question:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p data-start=\"1380\" data-end=\"1638\"><strong>\u201cWhich of you, during the past year, left the branch and walked around to see the other businesses in the mall, the commercial center, or your office building to get to know the business owners and tell them about your branch?\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p data-start=\"1640\" data-end=\"1666\">Not a single hand went up!<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"1673\" data-end=\"1735\">&nbsp;<\/h2>\n<h2 data-start=\"1673\" data-end=\"1735\"><strong data-start=\"1676\" data-end=\"1733\">Personal Marketing Strategy Is Simpler Than You Think<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"1736\" data-end=\"1939\">There\u2019s a common belief that marketing and sales require complex strategies or natural talent. Many think there\u2019s some mysterious formula at play &#8211; that unless you have \u201cthe gift,\u201d success is out of reach.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1941\" data-end=\"1955\">But the truth?<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1957\" data-end=\"1993\">In most cases, success stems from:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1994\" data-end=\"2048\">\n<li data-start=\"1994\" data-end=\"2008\">\n<p data-start=\"1996\" data-end=\"2008\">Initiative<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2009\" data-end=\"2022\">\n<p data-start=\"2011\" data-end=\"2022\">Diligence<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2023\" data-end=\"2048\">\n<p data-start=\"2025\" data-end=\"2048\">A personal relationship<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"2050\" data-end=\"2101\">This is the heart of a personal marketing strategy.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"2108\" data-end=\"2165\">&nbsp;<\/h2>\n<h2 data-start=\"2108\" data-end=\"2165\"><strong data-start=\"2111\" data-end=\"2163\">How to Apply a Personal Marketing Strategy Today<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"2166\" data-end=\"2332\">What if a branch manager stepped out of the office one afternoon and visited nearby businesses? Just dropped in to introduce themselves, with a few brochures in hand?<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2334\" data-end=\"2469\">It wouldn\u2019t cost anything.<br data-start=\"2360\" data-end=\"2363\">No travel expenses.<br data-start=\"2382\" data-end=\"2385\">The promotional materials already exist.<br data-start=\"2425\" data-end=\"2428\">And the time investment would be minimal.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2471\" data-end=\"2487\">But the outcome?<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2489\" data-end=\"2667\">Suddenly, the bank becomes human.<br data-start=\"2522\" data-end=\"2525\">It\u2019s not just another faceless institution.<br data-start=\"2568\" data-end=\"2571\">Now there\u2019s someone real behind the name.<br data-start=\"2612\" data-end=\"2615\">Someone who cares.<br data-start=\"2633\" data-end=\"2636\">Someone just around the corner.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2669\" data-end=\"2780\">Even if most business owners don&#8217;t switch banks, some will. And you only need a few to create a big difference.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2669\" data-end=\"2780\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"624\" data-end=\"657\">Confidence Is a Non-Negotiable<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"659\" data-end=\"729\">Let me be blunt: if you don\u2019t believe in your value, no one else will.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"731\" data-end=\"882\">That\u2019s why your personal marketing strategy must be backed by real confidence. They lower their prices. Apologize for their offers. Make excuses.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1226\" data-end=\"1238\"><strong data-start=\"1226\" data-end=\"1238\">Stop it.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1240\" data-end=\"1361\">You\u2019re a professional. Own your price. Own your presence. Walk into the room like you deserve to be there &#8211; <strong>because you do.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"2787\" data-end=\"2858\">&nbsp;<\/h2>\n<h2 data-start=\"2787\" data-end=\"2858\"><strong data-start=\"2790\" data-end=\"2856\">A Personal Marketing Strategy Worked Before &#8211; and It Still Works<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"2859\" data-end=\"2980\">The Marketing VP backed me up. When he was managing a branch, there were no social networks, no online lead generation.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2982\" data-end=\"3100\">They had to \u201cwear out their shoes\u201d &#8211; go door to door, meet people face-to-face, learn their needs, and earn their trust.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3102\" data-end=\"3251\">Today, it\u2019s easy to sit behind a screen and wait for leads.
