Strategic business collaborations are a powerful way to drive growth and expand reach.
My last post on collaboration created quite a buzz. I received many responses, both here and across my social networks. (To read the previous post, click here).
The modern world rewards collaboration and creative thinking.
“Man is not meant to be alone” – especially in business. You can’t truly grow professionally without learning from others, nor can you expand a business beyond certain limits without partnerships.
And it’s nearly impossible to succeed in a foreign country without a local partner.
Following my last post, I received many questions, with the most common being:
- How do you find people and businesses to collaborate with?
- How do collaborations truly leverage your business?
For the first question, the answer is simple – ask your community!
When I say “community,” I mean not just your email list and social media followers, but also your contacts, WhatsApp and LinkedIn groups, and even family, friends, colleagues, and neighbors.
Looking for a specific type of collaboration?
Start with those who know you and your work.
If you need distributors for your product, a publisher for your book, production companies to invite you to speak, or bloggers to publish a professional article you wrote (all of these are examples of “collaborations”), don’t start with Google or job boards, where you’ll get hundreds of irrelevant results. Instead, ask your community!
Define clearly what you’re looking for, and you’ll get a few, but highly relevant, recommendations.
As for the second question: how do collaborations elevate your business? In my experience, a successful collaboration that brings you new potential clients is one of the quickest ways to grow.
Strategic business collaborations can accelerate growth by leveraging each partner’s strengths.
Partnering with people or businesses whose audience aligns with yours, with media outlets that reach your target audience, or with events attended by potential customers, is incredibly effective.
A couple of years ago, I considered starting my own podcast but decided against it. I’m incredibly busy, frequently traveling, and already maintaining a YouTube channel, social media, and weekly newsletters.
I simply didn’t have the time or energy to start and sustain a podcast with regular content. However, I still wanted to be present on this new platform, so my solution was collaborations!
If I don’t have my own podcast, I can still appear as a guest on others’ shows, sharing my insights and reaching new audiences while also creating content for my followers.
In recent months, I’ve been promoting my new book, Sales Bible, in the United States. I’m here, and the book is there. I didn’t grow up in the U.S. and have almost no connections there. So how do I increase its visibility?
The same way—collaborations!
I received a list of leading U.S. podcasts on topics like economics, business, marketing, and sales from my publisher and agent, and I’m planning to reach out to each of them soon.
Many will not respond,
but a few will, and just one successful collaboration could expose my book to a massive new audience.
The right collaborations can save you time, money, and energy.
I discuss collaboration strategies in my business consulting sessions.
I can also help you craft your outreach messages, make the right connections, and prepare effective collaboration agreements.
